Machine FAQ
1.What is the primary function of this machine?
We can tell from the name that this machine has two functions the slitting and rewinding machine. That means you could slit the rolls and then rewind. Or rewind the roll with a smaller diameter only.
2.Can I slit steel roll with this machine?
Steel? No! This machine is designed for soft packing material rolls, such as paper, film, and non-woven jumbo roll slitting.
3.What are the paper roll sizes that I can load onto the machine?
We have 1300mm and 1600mm; two models can be your option. That means paper roll width within 1600mm from the paper mill or printing house can load onto our machine.
If the unwind width is more than 1600mm, please consider our other model or customized your machine.
4.What's the min. Slit width?
In this model, the min. The slit width is 50mm. Suppose the target slitting width is 20mm. Sorry, this machine is not okay for you. Please check our RJ-S 800/1100/1300 surface slitting and rewinding machine. Its crucial function is narrow bobbin/tape slitting with whole shaft rewind.
5.Can I slit the whole shaft 50mm with the maximum machine speed?
If the slit width is 50mm, it can rewind the whole shaft to the same width. But the running speed will be 150-200m/min.
6.Why not 360m/min in the specification? What slit width can I run the machine at full speed?
Theory speaking, the slit width should be more than 300mm. And the paper should be of good quality without breakage. Most suppliers, including us, will write the max. running speed in the catalog for the client's reference, but it usually is not the maximum speed for all kinds of paper rolls. Because of the paper quality, the operator's skill influences the machine's running speed.
7.How can I increase the rewind speed when the whole shaft slits 50mm?
Choose a differential air shaft for rewinding. The rewind tension will be better when running at high speed.
8.What's the cost of a differential air shaft?
It depends on the air shaft effetive work length. Please email us for a details quote.
9.Maximum rewind diameter 1000mm. Can I rewind more?
Yes, 1200mm could be an optional maximum rewinding diameter.
10.Can I slit 400gsm paper board roll with this machine?
Yes. But the mechanical slit blade is easy to wear. If the paper thickness is more than 300gsm, we suggest the client use an air blade. Because the air blade slit edge is neater, the air can micro-adjust the cut power during machine running, just like a car with a shock absorber. The upper blade does not need a hard landing onto the lower blade ring. The service life is longer than the mechanical blade.
11.How to choose a pneumatic drive round blade?
According to machine speed, if within 350m/min, choose the 90 models. If machine design maximum speed is 500m/min, select the 150 models.
12.What brand of air blade can I choose?
Our supply chain has the America MAXCESS brand and local Chinese air blade brands. You could pick it up according to your budget.
13.How about an auto blade positioning system?
Yes. This technology is increasingly popular in China's slitting machine manufacturing industry.
14.Can it slit double-side coated paper and those exceptionally slippy material rolls?
Yes. Due to special paper, the running speed cannot run at full speed. But we need to do an anti-slip job for the processing rollers on the machine. So it is essential to tell us all your paper types before purchasing.
